Have you ever seen a Printable Paper Christmas Village? OMG, I am so obsessed!
Finding Christmas village houses at Dollar Tree can be a hit or miss as you have to go at the right time. And the other Christmas village sets elsewhere are pricey.
So to have a Printable Christmas Village is like genius! You don’t have to run around finding houses at different stores or find a place to store village. You can simply print these up and put them together the same day!
If you’ve ever dreamed of creating a cozy little Christmas town for your mantel or table but didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on ceramic houses, this DIY version is perfect for you. With just a printer, scissors, and glue, you can build an entire festive village right at home!

What’s Inside the Printable Christmas Village Kit
This printable Christmas village kit includes 16 beautifully designed paper houses and shops, such as:
- A village bakery with treats in the window
- A toy shop filled with gifts and a holiday wreath
- A candy shop, a bookstore, and even a church with a tall steeple
- Several charming houses and townhouses in warm, pastel colors
Each building has its own personality — some are homes, others are shops — creating the perfect mix of residential and town life.
Paper Houses vs. Plastic Houses
If you’ve collected Christmas villages like Dollar Tree’s Cobblestone Corners, you might wonder how these compare. Surprisingly, these paper Christmas houses are a little bigger and just as charming — but much lighter and easier to store.
Plus, because they’re made of paper, you can safely display them anywhere — at home, in classrooms, or even in public spaces — without worrying about anything breaking or going missing.
How to Assemble the Paper Houses
Each printable sheet has dotted lines (for folding) and numbered tabs (for gluing), making assembly super simple — even for beginners.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Scissors
- Glue stick (see my favorite below!)
- A little patience and creativity
Tip: Cut the bottoms of the houses as straight as you can. The straighter your cuts, the more level your houses will stand.
If you find the glue tabs too small, feel free to extend them a bit. It’ll give you more space to apply glue and help your houses hold together better.

The Best Adhesive for Paper Christmas Houses
I tested several types of glue, and here’s what worked best:
- ❌ Regular glue stick: Too weak — the houses come apart.
- ❌ Wet glue or glue pen: Too damp — it bleeds through the paper.
- ✅ Best choice: Elmer’s Extra Strength Craft Bond Glue Stick.
It’s less wet, stronger, and dries quickly without wrinkling the paper.
You can also use double-stick tape or Zots (small adhesive dots) for extra hold.
Building the Church (Most Challenging but Worth It!)
The church is the most detailed building in the set — and yes, it’s the trickiest one to assemble. It comes in two parts, with a steeple that requires careful folding and gluing.
If you’re crafting with kids, I recommend pre-cutting the pieces so they can focus on assembling without getting frustrated.
When you finish, the church adds a beautiful centerpiece to your paper Christmas village!
Bonus: Paper Trees and Accessories
The kit also includes paper trees and people to complete your village scene.
To make the trees stand:
- Cut out both tree pieces.
- Fold each in half.
- Cut a slit halfway down the center of one, and halfway up the other.
- Slide them together — and voilà! You have a standing 3D tree.
Display Ideas for Your Paper Christmas Village
Once your paper houses are complete, it’s time to set up your village!
Here are some fun display ideas:
- Create a small town scene: Group the shops together and keep the homes separate for a “downtown vs. residential” feel.
- Use risers: Elevate the back row of houses so every building is visible.
- Add fairy lights: Place battery-operated lights behind your houses for a warm glow.
You can set up your printable paper Christmas village on a mantel, bookshelf, or tabletop — anywhere that needs a little extra holiday magic.
