FIRECracker is a world-travelling early retiree. She used to live in one of the most expensive cities in Canada, but instead of drowning in debt, she rejected home ownership. What resulted was a 7-figure portfolio, which has allowed her and her husband to retire at 31 and travel the world. Their story has been featured on CBC, the Huffington Post, CNBC, BNN, Business Insider, and Yahoo Finance. To date, it is the most shared story in CBC history and their viral video on CBC’s On the Money has garnered 4.5 Million views.

Long term readers of this blog will know that I had a horrific birth experience and exhausting first month after the birth of my son.

What I didn’t tell you at the time, was that there was something else incubating as well, and it was happening during all the insomnia, post-partum depression, and excruciating breastfeeding process…

What I didn’t tell you is that for the past 2 years, while raising our son, we’ve been working on another baby.

This one doesn’t crap on us, spit up, or require 24/7 attention to prevent self-destruction, but does keeps us up at night, ruminating about sending it out into the world, all alone and defense-less, to get ridiculed with an inch of its life. It was also raised by a whole village, is emotionally draining, messy, but still in our opinion, 100% worth it in the end.

I’m so excited and proud to announce that we’ve written a second book with Penguin Random House and it’s called…

    …..

    …..

    *drum roll*

Parent Like a Millionaire (Without Being One)!

This book is our heartfelt letter to parents and future parents, because no one works harder than you.

Before becoming parents, we thought we had an idea what it would be like. The endless diaper changing, the sleep deprivation, the constant vigilance. But nothing truly prepares you for parenthood. Nothing prepares you for the relentless sacrifice of giving all of you to this tiny person you love more than your own life.

We could only sympathize but not empathize.

    That has changed.

    We see you.

They say parenting is like a fulltime job, but I disagree. Jobs let you go home at the end of the day. It ends at some point. Parenting is 24/7 indentured servitude.

We were also frustrated by the sheer volume of books written ON parenting but not FOR parents. There’s always another study to read, another expert’s advice to follow, in additional to the ever-growing to do parental list to make sure your kid(s) turn out to be healthy, happy, and productive members of society.

But what about YOU, the parent?

You matter too. You are a person. You have wants and needs. You deserve a break.

We wrote this book to make parenting easier by hacking your finances so you can buy back your time to spend with your kids. Just like we hacked finances to quit your job to make life easier, we’ve learned how to hack finances to put more money in your pocket and make parenting easier.

And now that I’m a parent and know how hard it is, I desperately wanted to make the lives of other parents easier.

These are the thoughts that keep me going, typing chapters with one hand while pumping breastmilk with the other, trying to survive on 3 hours of sleep. It’s what kept me going while agonizing over an extra hour of sleep and getting another page written during my son’s nap-times. It’s what kept me going while being sick, having to take care of my sick son and husband, and needing to meet a writing deadline. I didn’t stop for anything. In fact, I was at it, less than 4 days after giving birth, because I needed this book to exist and to help other parents and future parents not feel so alone.

Most of the information in this book is brand new and has never been written about on this blog. Here’s a taste of what you’re getting:

    • Get luxury baby items for free (or close to it)
    • Find your nest, optimize transportation, and hack childcare
    • Go on unlimited family vacations
    • Give your child a world-class education
    • Make the stock market pay for college

It’s coming out on March 3, 2026 and you can pre-order it here. So if you’re a parent, are thinking about being a parent, or know a parent that needs some help with their finances, check it out.

Keep in mind that your credit card will not be charge until the book is released next year.

The first 50 people to pre-order a copy and e-mail us (firecracker.revolution@gmail.com) with the confirmation e-mail/receipt will get a FREE signed book sticker:

Like this one from our first book, but with the new book title

We would love to hear what you think of the cover. Also, if you’re a parent or thinking about becoming a parent, what do you wish you’d known or wish to know about the finances of raising kids? Let me know in the comments below.
