Welcome back to another edition of my weekly blog! If you are new here, this is just a fun little way that I write down the frugal and off-grid living things we did this week to hopefully give you some ideas and tips, and also just to be able to connect and share!
Meals We Ate
Now that the weather is colder, I’m trying to get back to sourdough. Ever since we’ve moved, I’ve really struggled with it because of the high altitude. I made three different batches this week, and it’s finally starting to look good.
We also ate:
- BBQ Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and gravy
- Chili (home canned)
- Tacos
- Sausage and Potatoes Skillet
- Chicken and Broccoli Empanadas
For those looking for my free meal plans, I put up a Frugal Meal Plan this last week as well as a Food Pantry Meal Plan. I’ll have another one up this weekend!
Projects We Worked On
This weekend is going to to be a work weekend for David as I’ll be out of town at a funeral. He’s hoping to get most of the rest of the house interior walls up.
Other than that, it was fairly normal for the kids and I. School, experimenting on bread, and some outdoor adventuring due to the nicer weather.
We saw several moose this week! I’ve been waiting all summer to see a baby moose, and we got to see two!
Shopping I Did
I ordered all of our Christmas gifts this week. I can’t order them to our PO Box so I had to send them to my parents to pick up when we visit. As usual, we are doing 3 gifts per child plus some things for their stockings. We also ordered gifts for their cousins. (All from Rainbow Resource.)
The baby had an appointment in town, so I also picked up some fresh produce this week.
Books We Read
I didn’t get around to reading any extras this week, but the kids have listened to a bunch of new audiobooks! They are currently loving the Hometown Hunters series on Sherwood Kids. You can use my code “littlehouseliving” to get 10% off for life. We LOVE the app!
